Short answer

Popular online casino games explained: slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, live dealer tables, crash games and game shows, and what each costs.

Short answer

Slots are by far the most common online casino game, followed by roulette, blackjack and baccarat, live dealer versions of those tables, crash games such as Aviator, and live game shows such as Crazy Time. Each works differently and carries a different cost, measured as the return to player or the house edge.

You can learn all of them for free: our games hall runs more than 800 studio demos, most of them slots, and none takes a deposit. Gambling is an offence across the UAE under Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021 unless the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) licenses it. The only licensed online option is Play971, run by Coin Technology Projects LLC, for adults aged 21 and over who are physically in the UAE. Every offshore site is unlicensed and using it can break UAE law. 21+.

Slots

A slot spins reels and pays when symbols land in winning patterns. A random number generator decides each spin, so the last result never changes the next. Each slot has a return to player, or RTP: the share of all money staked that it pays back over millions of spins. A 96% RTP keeps about 4% over the long run.

Volatility tells you how wins arrive: low-volatility slots pay small amounts often, high-volatility slots pay rarely but bigger. Check the RTP in the game info screen, because the same title can run at different settings in different casinos. Browse our slots hall.

Roulette

Roulette is a wheel with numbered pockets and a ball. European roulette has one zero and a house edge of about 2.7%; American roulette adds a double zero and raises the edge to about 5.3%. Pick the single-zero wheel when you've the choice.

Every bet on the table carries roughly the same edge on a given wheel, so no betting system changes the maths. Our roulette hall explains the bets.

Blackjack and baccarat

Blackjack asks you to beat the dealer without going over 21. With basic strategy and good table rules its house edge can be under 1%, among the lowest in the casino, but only if you play the strategy correctly. Our blackjack hall covers the rules.

Baccarat needs no strategy: you bet on the Banker, the Player or a Tie. The Banker bet carries an edge of about 1.06% and the Player bet about 1.24%, while a Tie paid at 8 to 1 costs about 14.4%, so most experienced players skip the Tie.

Live dealer tables

Live dealer games stream a real table and a human dealer from a studio, and you place bets on screen. They offer roulette, blackjack and baccarat with the same rules and house edges as the digital versions, at a slower pace and usually with higher minimum bets.

Our live dealer hall explains how the streams work. A live table is still a casino game with the same maths; the dealer doesn't change the odds.

Crash games and live game shows

In a crash game such as Aviator, a multiplier climbs from 1x until it crashes at a random moment; you win your stake times the multiplier if you cash out before the crash. Rounds last seconds, which makes it easy to play far more than planned. Our Aviator guide explains the round.

Live game shows such as Crazy Time use a presenter and a big money wheel with bonus rounds. They're entertainment first, with many outcomes paying less than your stake. Read our Crazy Time guide and check the game info screen before you play.

How do popular online casino games compare on cost?

Cost is the share of each stake a game keeps over time. On the figures above, blackjack with basic strategy and the Banker bet at baccarat sit around 1%, single-zero roulette about 2.7%, and a slot with a 96% RTP about 4%. Double-zero roulette roughly doubles the single-zero edge, and the Tie bet is one of the dearest bets on any table.

Speed matters as much as the edge. A slot spin or a crash round takes seconds, so the same edge costs more per hour than a slower live table does. We'd compare games by what they cost per hour at your stake, not by the biggest win on the screen, and we keep every title in our games hall free to try.

Bonuses don't change the maths. Wagering rules make you stake the bonus many times, each stake pays the same edge, and a bonus with heavy wagering often costs more than it adds. Our bonus notes show how to read those terms.

None of these figures turns a game into income. They tell you how fast a budget runs down on average, and that's the number to plan around.

Which game should you start with?

If you want the lowest cost, learn blackjack basic strategy or bet Banker at baccarat. If you want simplicity, a low-volatility slot with a published RTP is easiest. Whatever you choose, try it in demo mode first and set a budget, a deposit limit and a time limit before you play for money.

Bottom line

Slots dominate online casinos, table games cost less if you play them well, and crash games and game shows move fastest. Every game keeps a share of stakes over time, so play for entertainment, never to earn. Learn for free first. 21+.
